New Information:  We just located the original 6" face plate, a lathe dog and 2 wrenches that go with the tooling for this Universal Test Stand.  We also have an aftermarket
rocker style tool post which we are including.
We should also say that with a new flat belt and one wire fixed this would be a fully functional and usable piece of vintage equipment.
Museum Quality, Vintage Automotive, 1925, ELMCO (The Electric Machine Corporation) Universal Test Stand, Used: This 1925 Vintage ELMCO Universal Test Stand is in excellent Condition. With very little work this test stand will be a usable functioning piece of equipment.  The wiring is in excellent condition. One minor repair necessary.  It needs a new flat belt and someone stole the rocker style tool post. There is a small broken piece of a cast shroud to the left of the headstock. The picture of the tooling shows the missing broken casting piece 90% there. This automotive test stand was used to perform tests on Ford Model A’s and other vehicles. It tested: generators; magnetos; commutators; commutator segments for grounds; armature windings; field coils; ignitions and condensers (Everything that you needed to keep your Model A running for over 400,000 miles at 25 miles to the gallon). This machine has a built in lathe and electrical test panel. Some tooling (see pictures), a copy of operating instructions, a packing slip of parts and other instructions are included with this machine.
